Just got back from a winter trip fishing for some big Carp here in Portugal. Infact the weather is probably as good as the British summer at the moment, althought at the start of the week i could have sworn i was in the UK.

Went to a venue that is probably the best in Portugal & Spain for it's size. The lakes record is just under (ounces) the 60lb barrier, although the lake owner tells me he pulled a dead Mirror carp from the water 3 years ago that weighed a saggering 30kilo

Anyway, spent all week there and only had two runs. Both falling to my 18mm BOILLIES. Had one fish to 3kilo and the other weighing in at 41lb

Weather still a tad cold at night yet and the fish not feeding as they should but looking forward to a return trip in warmer weather.

John told me about your catch and I can't wait to see the photo's when I visit John.

Hopefully there will be more places like this opening in Portugal and hopefully some in the Algarve near Albufeira so I don't have to travel so far to catch some good size fish.

Well done Dave, sorry I could'nt join you guys, but some of us have to work.
Edge, I seriously doubt that a place like that will open in or near Albufeira (my hometown) in the neat future,I do however go to a certain place just 70 - 80 km from Albufeira were 40lb and bigger have been caught.
Planing a trip in the first weekend of march, that'll be saturday and sunday, if u interested, let me know.
