don't bother!...take your golf clubs instead

All depends on what kind of fish your after. Try the River Mondego, a vast system but alot of nice Barbel and Carp. Or if you want to try your hand at spinning for Trout or large mouth Bass take a trip to Baregem AGUIEIRA, either from a boat or the bank.
keep us posted on how you do. or if anybody else out there has any better ideas, go ahead post them.

probably your best bet will be the Zezere at Santarem. they have a good 'pitch & put' there that will keep the Mrs happy.

Or if your taking your rods. still try the Zezere. A massive place as you should be driving by it as your going North. Basic baits like a good tin of Corn, meat or just about anything. Not been over here too long but have done my homework and just about any simple bait will land you fish.keeping it simple is always a good bet. tip rod works well.
give us a buz when your coming by and we'll meet up and talk 'golf',
